DeGeneres asked about Packer appearing in the show, despite reports that he did not want to be on camera.

"Allegedly," Carey said, indicating that Packer is seen in the show and may have been on camera by choice.

When Ellen asked about how she's doing mentally, she said, "I think I'm doing well. Everything happens for a reason. Things are the way they are."

"It's kind of difficult to talk about it at the moment. So I'm just going to compliment you on these decorations once again because they are fabulous, and I'm here…"

DeGeneres let her move on.

Carey and Packer reportedly started dating in July 2015 and were engaged in January 2016 before splitting in October.
