These days she's being charged with DUIs and felony theft, but it wasn't so long ago (1998, to be exact) that Lindsay Lohan was just a cute little kid starring as twins trying to get their parents back together in Disney's remake of "The Parent Trap."

She followed up her "Parent Trap" role with the pilot episode of Bette Midler's short-lived TV show, "Bette." She quit the show when it moved production from New York to L.A. Smart move, Linds.

Lohan starred in "Freaky Friday," another Disney reboot, in 2003 with actress (and Activia shiller) Jamie Lee Curtis.

LiLo was still ruling the teen movie roost in 2004 with "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen."

LiLo peaked as an actress in 2004 with her role as Cady in the much-loved "Mean Girls." The movie was a critical and commercial success.

Lindsay released "A Little More Personal," her second album, in 2005. It peaked at 20 on the Billboard 200 and included the single "Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father"), presumably a message to her bad boy father Michael.

LiLo won an MTV Movie Award for best actress for her role in "Mean Girls."

Lohan starred in her last Disney film, "Herbie Fully Loaded," her last Disney movie, in 2005.

Lohan attended the "Just My Luck" premiere in 2006 with sister Aliana and much-maligned mother Dina. The film only made $5.7 million at the box office it's opening weekend.

L.L. starred in "A Prairie Home Companion" based on the famous NPR show, with Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep in 2006.

She promoted her film "Bobby" at the Venice Film Festival in 2006 with then-boyfriend Harry Morton. She also started attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings that year.

Lidsay baked creampuffs on "The Martha Stewart Show" in 2007 to promote her movie "Georgia Rule." She was hospitalized during filming for exhaustion and was publicly chastised for being "unprofessional" by a studio executive on the film.

Lohan won a worst actress Razzie award in 2008 for her performance in "I Know Who Killed Me," about a down-on-her-luck stripper. The same year, she revealed she was dating DJ Samantha Ronson.

In 2007, she starred with a portly Jared Leto in "Chapter 27" about John Lennon's killer Mark David Chapman. Her parents divorce was finalized the same year.

Lohan was booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for one day in November 2007 for drunk driving.

At one point, Lohan was tied to a film biopic on '70s porn star Linda Lovelace, but after court-ordered rehab in 2010. Mother Dina, ever the PR agent, claims Linds decided to leave the move on her own.

Lohan appeared in court in July 2010 for probation violation. She was charged with grand felony theft in February 2011 for stealing a necklace. She's rumored to be tied to three film projects, but no official announcements have been made.
