Two of the best in their respective fields shared the spotlight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Friday night when Kobe Bryant surprised Taylor Swift on stage during the first night of her five "1989" tour stops at the arena.

The show was Swift's 12th at the venue, but when the run is over, she'll have sold out 16 shows there, which is why the Lakers star was on stage: to present her with a banner for selling out the Staples Center the most of any artist.

Her banner was unveiled next to the Los Angeles Lakers' 16 championship banners.
