"What happened is I tripped and fell in my kitchen, on a braided rug that my wife loves, and I can't wait to burn it to the ground. And I tripped and fell, and I caught my fall and I just, so I'm getting up and my finger is sideways. So I go, 'Oh, my god, did I just break my finger?'" said Fallon on "The Tonight Show."

Because  Fallon’s wedding band caught onto a glass table when he tried to catch himself, it didn’t actually break.

But instead, he got what’s called a ring avulsion, which basically means he pulled his finger out of place. Ouch.

Of course, fans already knew Fallon had to have microsurgery on his hand to fix his poor digit.

Fortunately, doctors were able to fix him up. After ten days in the ICU, he’s basically back to normal and should have full feeling in that finger in about eight weeks.

But Fallon wasn’t the only one in the hospital during the break.

Higgins, the announcer for the show, was hospitalized for a week after being diagnosed with Lyme disease.

The Roots are all perfectly healthy except for Questlove’s broken nail.

However, everyone is glad to see both Fallon and Higgins back in action. Now all that's left to do is get rid of that rug.
