Jeff Bridges in Va. to combat childhood hunger

Bridges has long thrown his weight behind the cause of childhood hunger.

Currently fewer than 20 percent of kids in Virginia who are eligible for free and reduced price school lunches participate in summer meal programs.

The private-public partnership is designed to help connect low-income children to federal food and nutrition programs while school is out for the summer.

Bridges said he'd feel miserable if he didn't do his part to alleviate childhood hunger.
