Recording artist Jackson Browne performed a tribute version of the song he and Glenn Frey created together when they were roommates in the 1970s.

Browne was in Clearwater, Fla., and sang "Take It Easy on Me" on Tuesday, his first concert since Frey's death Monday, Billboard reported.

According to the Billboard article, the song was written almost exclusively by Browne, with Frey adding a few lyrics. The pair roomed together in L.A. The song went on to be one of the biggest hits for The Eagles.

“I wrote this song with Glenn Frey,” Browne said during the performance. “It’s a song that I started, but I didn’t finish it. Even if I had finished it by myself, it wouldn’t be the song that it is and it wouldn’t be the song that we all love.”

Frey was 67 and died from complications of rheumatoid arthritis and pneumonia. The manager for The Eagles blames arthritis medication for his death.
