Isaac Hayes dies

Soul singer Isaac Hayes has died in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 65.

Hayes did the voice for Chef on Comedy Central's 'South Park' and wound up at the center of controversy when he walked away from the show because of its parody of his Scientology beliefs. The show, he declared, showed "growing insensitivity toward personal spiritual beliefs."

Hayes lets loose with a soulful shout in the 1973 concert documentary 'Wattstax,' which was shown at the 2003 Atlanta Film Festival.

In 2000, Hayes added cookbook author to his considerable resume with 'Cooking with Heart & Soul.'
