The veteran metal band is on the South American leg of its world tour.

The plane is a converted Boeing 747 with a custom paint job. It is named in honor of the band's zombie mascot, Eddie, whose face is emblazoned on the jet's tail.

Two members of the ground crew were injured in the accident. They are expected to recover.
