HBO gave fans of its hit series “Game of Thrones” what they wanted. Well, sort of. The premium cable channel dropped a teaser trailer for the final season of the series, but much to the faithfuls’ disappointment, the video was just that -- a tease and a re-edit of past footage from seasons one through seven.
The clips show all that has happened, deaths of key characters and massive battle sequences all leading to one thing - the throne.
And in pure teaser fashion, it shows nothing new for the upcoming season, so fans don’t get answers to their burning questions of what happens to Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow and if Tyrion Lannister and Cersei Lannister survive the final battle.
Entertainment Weekly reported filming has ended and what happens is under tight security.
Few photos have come out from production. The scripts were delivered to cast members under password-protected files with code words used for production documents, the magazine reported.
What has been reported is that the final season starts in Winterfell with hints back to the show's pilot. But everything that happens during the six-episode season will center around the battle between the Army of the Dead and those trying to survive, EW reported.
The final season will start airing on HBO in April.
