Dan Haggerty, best known for his role of Grizzly Adams on the 1970s hit television series “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams,” has died at the age of 74, according to numerous entertainment news reports.

The Associated Press reports that the cause of death was spinal cancer.

While best known for his television work, Haggerty continued to work in the industry in small film roles up until his death, according to IMDB.

In addition to acting, Haggerty enjoyed working with wild animals and was a trainer for Walt Disney Studios.
