High Museum workers put together parts of the new exhibit "Frida & Diego" on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. The High is the only United States venue for the dual retrospective.

Diego Rivera's "Girasoles (Sunflowers)," is an oil on canvas from 1943.

Frida Kahlo's "Retrato de Diego Rivera (Portrait of Diego Rivera)," is oil on masonite from 1937.

Diego Rivera's "Retrato De Natasha Gelman (Portrait of Natasha Gelman)," is an oil on canvas from 1943. Several pieces in the exhibition are on loan from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection of Mexican Art.

Frida Kahlo's "Autorretrato con Monos (Self-Portrait with Monkeys)," is an oil on canvas from 1943. It will be on view at the High Museum of Art as part of the exhibition “Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics and Painting." It opens Thursday, Feb. 14.

Frida Kahlo's "Autorretrato como Tehuana (Diego en mi Pensamiento)(Self-Portrait as Tehuana (Diego in My Thoughts)) is an oil on masonite piece from 1943.

Frida Kahlo's "Autorretrato Con Collar (Self - Portrait with Necklace)," in an oil on metal painting from 1933. The painting is part of the exhibit "Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics and Painting," running at the High Museum from Feb. 14-May 12, 2013.

This Bernice Kolko photograph of Frida Kahlo is one of four photographs of Friday and Diego owned by the High Museum.
