EAST ATLANTA

Easter Art Hunt

Yes, that’s art, not eggs. The East Atlanta Community Association, East Atlanta Kids Club and Atlanta Fringe Festival team up for a family-friendly event highlighted by a hunt for artistic treasures. Various creations produced by local artists will be secreted throughout Brownwood Park for the third annual hunt, and it’s finders-keepers for the lucky searchers. Along with the art hunt, the event includes crafts, raffles, live music and food-truck goodies.

10 a.m.-3 p.m. April 12. Free. Brownwood Park, 602 Brownwood Ave., Atlanta. 404-624-0747, www.atlantafringe.org.

MARIETTA

“FairTax: the Musical”

Imagine a United States where the words “income” and “tax” had never been put together. It’s a story that could have been ripped right out of Neal Boortz’s “The Fair Tax Book.” But things get a bit more complicated when a young senator from Illinois suggests that the code needs to be replaced with something simpler — like a document that’s only 60,000 pages long. Performers in the Young Actors Playhouse will explain it all.

8 p.m. April 11 and 12, 3 p.m. April 13. $18-$22. 11 Whitlock Ave., Marietta. 678-224-8095, www.youngactorsplayhouse.com.
