Georgia may be his birth state, but the majority of acclaimed singer-songwriter Eric Taylor’s musical background resides deep in the heart of Texas. Ever the storyteller, Taylor’s songs have been recorded by the likes of Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett. MORROW

Venice Baroque Orchestra at Spivey Hall at Clayton State University

The Venice Baroque Orchestra serves up timeless Italian concertos, and for some it’s the audio equivalent to comfort food. Yet, unlike mama’s lasagna, it’s not fattening. Andrea Marcon conducts and plays harpsichord along with the orchestra as it revisits Vivaldi, Albinoni and others. In addition to solos by Marcon, string and wind soloists step into the spotlight, too. Expect the group to detour away from Italy at times by way of Bach and Handel. The organizers ask guests to please leave children younger than 12 at home.

8:15 p.m. Jan. 26. $65. Spivey Hall, Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd., Morrow. 678-466-4200, www.spiveyhall.org.
