Downtown Restaurant Week and Gucci Mane: 5 things to do this weekend in Atlanta

Whether you’re a foodie or a rap fan, this weekend has the potential to be awesome.

There’s always fun things going on in metro Atlanta, but the events that are taking place this week are perfect for some last-minute summer fun.

Here are our top picks for things to do in Atlanta this weekend:

Go to the beach

Whether you’re a parent looking to keep your kids entertained this summer, someone who is in need of a solo trip, or a person who wants to get away with their closest friends or significant other, taking a road trip is a fun, inexpensive way to leave your day-to-day troubles behind.

Instead of heading to Hilton Head for your getaway, try something new. Visit a new beach with the help of our list of "10 often-overlooked beaches near Atlanta." All of our suggestions are between five to seven hours by car.

Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Kevin Gates and Jhene Aiko

Head to Lakewood Amphitheatre for a lit concert with hip-hop acts Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Kevin Gates and singer Jhene Aiko. If you’re looking to sit on the lawn and enjoy an energetic show this month, this is definitely one to attend.
