Katie Stewart is most looking forward to seeing the Atlanta Braves in their new Cobb County home at Suntrust Park this week.

The Disney on Ice performer is visiting metro Atlanta this week to portray Frozen’s Anna during the family-friendly show at Duluth’s Infinite Energy Center.

For Stewart and the rest of the crew, spending every week in a new city can be challenging. Especially for the performers and crew members who aren’t from America. Stewart, a Michigan native, said they often look forward to exploring new places together.

“For some of the people who are going [to Suntrust Park], this will be their very first baseball game ever,” she said.

In her second year traveling with Disney on Ice, Stewart said being able to portray a beloved Disney character trumps any frustrations that may come with her hectic work schedule.

Ahead of appearing on ice as Anna, Stewart said she watched “Frozen” “obsessively” in an attempt to mimic the popular character’s facial expressions and movements.

“As much fun as her character is, because she’s so goofy and clumsy at times, I definitely want to do a good job because I know how important of a character she is,” she said.

While she certainly wants to nail every performance, the former competitor admits performing in front of enthusiastic families isn’t nearly as intense as being judged and critiqued every time she steps onto the ice.

Disney on Ice Presents Worlds of Entertainment doesn’t just bring the world of “Frozen” to ice. The show also features characters from “Cars,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Toy Story.”

Stewart said one of the things that people might find surprising about the show is how fun it is for parents. In some instances, parents who grew up on “The Little Mermaid” are now raising “Frozen” fans. The parents are able to relive their childhoods and treat their kids at the same time.

“Be prepared to get up and sing and dance along because it’s extremely interactive,” Stewart said.
