Atlanta is the founding location of some of America's most beloved chains.

Which chain deserves the Best of Atlanta crown?

You let us know loud and clear.

Back in 1979 when a couple of guys from Buffalo, New York, made a pit stop in Atlanta on their way to Florida, they decided to stay and bring their favorite food, buffalo wings, to the sunny South. Thus, Taco Mac was born, and in 2017 they're officially our favorite chain in Atlanta.

Chick-fil-A comes in the No. 2 spot with ease. With over 1,700 restaurants nationwide, its humble beginnings started in Atlanta's Greenbriar Shopping Center in 1967 by Truett Cathy. Their chicken has become one of legend around these parts.

Our third place winner serves up happiness in the form of pizza. Mellow Mushroom knows the secret to a good meal − a slice of tantalizing pizza and a cold brew. If pizza speaks to your heart, then check out the 2017 Best of Atlanta winners and nominees in the pizza category.

These aren't the only three popular chains that started off in Atlanta. Be sure to visit our other nominees that took inspiration from our city: Waffle HouseThe VarsityTaqueria del SolMoe's Southwest GrillTed's Montana Grill and The Flying Biscuit Cafe.

While we wait for the poll results, find out why some consider Waffle House Atlanta's best restaurant. We bet you didn't know these twelve things about WaHo, either.

Take look at these five major restaurant chains you probably didn't know started in Atlanta.
