Foundation Social Eatery in Roswell
The first restaurant from chef Mel Toledo, Foundation Social Eatery, opens this week on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell. Toledo, a veteran of restaurants in Atlanta, California and France, will offer a menu that draws on French and Italian influences and local and regional Southern ingredients. Tantra to become Vin Vie Bistro
Tantra Restaurant and Bar, a glitzy Buckhead spot that opened in late 2010 on Peachtree Road, has a new owner, Laurend Abraham of Paris Restaurant Management and Consulting Group, who will debut a new concept, Vin Vie Bistro, in late April. Look for a brighter, more open design and a "casual, French twist on a classic steakhouse," where guests can expect to see everything from escargots to prime cuts of meat. Varuni-Napoli set to open
Naples-born Luca Varuni, a former pizza chef at the wildly popular Antico Pizza Napoletana, is set to open Varuni-Napoli in early April. The fast-casual Neapolitan-style pizzeria is located on Monroe Drive near Ansley Park. On the menu are three basic pizzas that may be customized with extra toppings, and three chef's artisan pizzas with seasonal ingredients, plus salads, appetizers, desserts and Italian wine and beer. 1540 Monroe Drive N.E., Atlanta. 404-873-0000, varuni.us.
Villains ‘Paleo Pop-Up’
Villains Wicked Heroes is presenting its second "Paleo Pop-Up" on March 24 and March 31 in partnership with guest chefs Charles and Julie Mayfield, authors of the "Paleo Comfort Foods" cookbook.
