Guy Fieri brings food and fire to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre

He's a little bit country. And he's a little bit rock 'n' roll. Scratch that. He's all rock 'n' roll.

Guy Fieri, the Food Network dude who spends lots of time eating pot roast sandwiches and stirring up cocktails on his shows "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," " Guy’s Big Bite" and "The Ultimate Recipe Showdown" is in Atlanta Monday night at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre with his tour, “The Guy Fieri Roadshow.” Known for his bleached, spiked hair and Bahama-style shirts, Fieri has taken his show(s) on the road for a rock ‘n' roll cooking party on stage, with bartender Hayden “Woody” Wood stirring up some crazy cocktails, too.

Energetic to the point of playfulness, he’s got a lot to say about what you can expect from the show.

Q: So, um, “rock ‘n' roll culinary tour?” What brings you to Atlanta?

A: Holy smokes. We’ve always had such great reception in Atlanta -- I just had to bring the show here. Robert Irvine from "Dinner: Impossible" is with me, and we’re going to have Gus Tselios and Marcos Louissaint from the Marietta Diner on stage, too.

Q: The Marietta Diner was featured on your show " Diners Drive-ins and Dives," correct? What can people expect from this show?

A: Yes. I love the Marietta Diner. I’ll never forget those guys. As for the show, I’m not even going to tell you about my giant orange fur DJ booth and the rolling monster margarita machine … but we’re going to really shake things up and have some fun. We’re bringing the party to the party. When I cook at home, I like to play rock ‘n' roll and stir up a good time with my friends and family, laughing, cooking and telling stories. The show is an extension of that.

Q: So you’ll be rockin’ to AC/DC while you make cocktails and noshes?

A: Pretty much, yeah. Woody (mixologist Hayden Wood) and I are culinary gangsters together, along with everyone else involved. We’re on stage to have a good time. It’s adventurous, trust me.

Q: Who gets to partake in all this yum?

A: Well, at first I wanted the whole audience to be able to have sips and nibbles –- but that’s impossible when you’re in a venue that seats 2,000. So we have select tickets that allow some folks to get up on stage with us. They’ll be able to see, smell and taste everything we do.

Q: You’ve covered a lot of ground in Atlanta, with your show featuring not only the Marietta Diner but Cabbagetown Market as well. What do you remember most about your trips to the Big A?

A: I love Little Five Points. That bar, what’s it called – the Yacht Club (Euclid Avenue Yacht Club)? I love that place.
