Atlanta is the founding location of some of America's most beloved chains. Which chain deserves the Best of Atlanta crown? You let us know loud and clear.

With an astounding 45% of votes, Chick-fil-A comes in the #1 spot with ease. With over 1,700 restaurants nationwide, its humble beginnings started in Atlanta's Greenbriar Shopping Center in 1967 by Truett Cathy. Their chicken has become one of legend around these parts.

If you love breakfast, chances are you adore Waffle House. If the craving strikes for scattered, smothered and covered, then you can always get your hook-up 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The original Waffle House is located in Avondale Estates, which also includes a museum.

Our third place winner serves up happiness in the form of pizza. Mellow Mushroom knows the secret to a good meal -- a slice of perfectly prepared pizza and a cold brew. If pizza speaks to your heart, then check out our Best of Atlanta pizza winner and nominees.

These aren't the only three popular chains that started off in Atlanta. Be sure to visit our other nominees that took inspiration from our city: The Varsity, Taco Mac Sports Grill, Taqueria del Sol, Moe's Southwest Grill, Ted's Montana Grill and The Flying Biscuit Cafe.

Find out why some consider Waffle House Atlanta's best restaurant. We bet you didn't know these twelve things about WaHo, either.

Love chili dogs? Find out why The Varsity serves up some of the best with a heaping helping of memories.

If you've been craving a trip to Taco Mac, then these photos will hit the spot.
