Dave Chappelle is hosting 'Saturday Night Live'

Comedian Dave Chappelle is hosting "Saturday Night Live" for the first time ever Nov. 12.

Deadline Hollywood reported that the actor is making his debut as a host for the show.

"Saturday Night Live" made the announcement in a tweet Friday.

The musical guest for the episode is hip-hop trio A Tribe Called Quest, which is promoting their first album since 1998. The album, "We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service," will be the group's last since the death of member Phife Dawg in March 2016 due to diabetes complications, according to a written letter from member Q-Tip.

Chapelle has generally laid low since the end of his hit Comedy Central sketch show, " Chappelle's Show," but was most recently seen in Spike Lee's movie "Chi-Raq."

The episode Chapelle will be hosting will be the first one following the presidential election, so it is possible he and the 'SNL' writers will have plenty of material to pull from.

"Saturday Night Live" airs Saturdays at 11 p.m.
