November is a great month to step away from responsibilities and recharge as much as possible.
As people prepare to host family and friends this holiday season, and face end-of-the-year burnout, getting out and enjoying a local festival or a live show may prove to be a great way to power through.
Here are ten things to do in November throughout metro Atlanta:
Sam Mendes and Rob Barshall’s Tony Award-winning production of “Cabaret” is coming to the Fox Theatre on Nov. 1.
The musical will take attendees into the Kit Kat Klub in Berlin during the Nazis’ rise to power.

Sia’s reinvention landed her an audience that can support an arena tour. The “Chandelier” singer has taken drastic measures to keep the focus solely on her music since breaking into mainstream pop with “Titanium” so dancers such as Maddie Zeigler (‘Dance Moms’ and Sia’s “Chandelier” music video) will take center stage during this show.
R&B crooner Miguel and London EDM duo AlunaGeorge are opening up for Sia. Both acts have an established fan base, but this arena tour will no doubt gain them some new followers.

Enjoy a chili tasting, artist market and live music at this fall festival. According to the event's website, Chomp and Stomp was created to "[honor] Cabbagetown's past as a little bit of country in the big city."
Participating food vendors include Taste of Jamaica and Mix’D UP Burgers. More than 13 bands will entertain attendees at the 14th annual festival with country, folk and bluegrass tunes on various stages throughout the festival.

About 185 artists will be at the two-day Chastain Park Arts Festival this month. The sixth-annual event will include fine arts and crafts, a children’s area, food trucks, and live music from local artists.

The Alliance Theatre will explore themes such as identity, race and religion through the eyes of a middle school student in “Slur.” The production is a collaboration with Paideia School students and young actors in the Alliance Theatre’s summer drama camps.

Theodore Witcher directed this stage adaptation of 1997’s romantic drama “Love Jones.” The musical will open at the Fox Theatre on Nov. 11.

Puglanta PugFest 2016 is about more than celebrating the cute dog breed. Food trucks, vendors and Santa will be on hand to ensure that this event is fun for pets and their human family members, too. All (friendly) dogs are welcome at this event and adoptable dogs will be on site for meet-and-greets.

Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company opens its season with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony-award winning play “Proof.” The play tackles themes such as miscommunication in familial and romantic relationships and mental illness.

The 2016 Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon and 5K is a great way to spend the holiday. From the 50m Dash for children, ages 6 and under, to the half marathon for participants, ages 14 and older, this is an event that the entire family can participate in.
The cut-off date for registration is Nov. 16.
