In addition to accepting Billboard's Music Icon Award, Celine Dion hit the award show stage for the first time since the death of her husband and manager, Rene Angeli.

Dressed in a silver sparkling dress, Celine performed her latest single -- a cover of Queen's "The Show Must Go On" at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

The song title and subject is fitting for the singer, her lost her brother son after the death of her husband as well.

After the performance, her son, Rene Charles, surprised her as the presenter of her Billboard Icon Award.

An emotional Dion thanked her son for the award and struggled to hold back tears.

"I want to be so strong for my family and my kids," she said. "You make me so happy,"  she told her son.

"So many people helped me get to where I am today … most especially, I want to thank the fans for traveling through music with me in good and bad times," she said.

"My mom, who wrote my first song, my children … And most importantly, my beloved husband whom I know will continue to watch me from up above.

"Honey, this one's for you. The show must go on."
