Paul Rudd, recently avenging the world as Ant-Man, has joined the cast of the new “Ghostbusters” movie.

Although the plot of the movie hasn't been announced, a source told Variety that Rudd will be playing a teacher and not an actual buster of ghosts.

“I’ve been wanting to work with Paul Rudd since my short film opened for ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ at Sundance,” director Jason Reitman told Variety. “ I’m thrilled he’ll be joining this new chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe.”

Rudd “slimed” himself making the announcement on Twitter.

Reitman’s father, Ivan Reitman, directed the original “Ghostbusters,” in 1984. Jason Reitman co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan. “Ghostbusters 2020” is expected to hit theaters next summer.

“Ghostbusters 2020” will also star Carrie Coon — who played for the bad guys in the Atlanta-filmed “Avengers: Endgame” — along with Finn Wolfhard of “Stranger Things” and Mckenna Grace of “Captain Marvel” as her children.
