The father of missing "Growing Pains" actor Andrew Koenig said his son's body was found in a public park in Vancouver Thursday.

Actor Walter Koenig, who played Chekov in the popular Star Trek TV series, said his son suffered from depression and took his own life.

The body was found at about noon Pacific time in Vancouver's Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre preserve teeming with Winter Olympics visitors.

The actor's family held a press conference at 8 p.m.  Friday Atlanta time.

Koenig, 41, hasn't been seen by friends or family since Feb. 14.

He was best known for his role as Richard "Boner" Stabone on the popular 1980s TV series "Growing Pains," which starred Kirk Cameron.
