6/30 Peach Buzz: Action! Filming updates both ITP and OTP

"American Reunion," the latest in the "American Pie" series of rowdy teen flicks, keeps adding to its roster, with actress Mena Suvari signing on. She's already in town and was spotted Monday night at Two Urban Licks enjoying steak and salad, and having the scallops Tuesday night at One Midtown Kitchen. The project has been filming downtown near Woodruff Park, and counts NFL Renaissance man Chad Ochocinco among its new cast members.

Buzz in our ear

In other movie news, "The Three Stooges" is giving us whiplash. The Farrelly brothers movie travels back and forth, inside and outside the perimeter, like a daily commuter. After filming in Cartersville, then Stone Mountain, then intown, the project was back in Cartersville Wednesday, setting up shop on Old Alabama Road near Woodland High School. Jennifer Hudson, who plays a nun in the movie, has arrived to join the cast.

Two leagues of their own

Here's an interesting quasi-legal tidbit for you. Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton partner Audra Dial just completed her year as president of the Atlanta Junior League as her colleague, attorney Mindy Pillow, embarked on her year as president of the DeKalb County Junior League. When we met with mesdames president the other day at their firm's Midtown offices, both said their service to the League nicely complements their lives as moms, professionals and civic servants. "The League is really great at being a training ground for women leaders in the community," said Dial, whose group tackled early childhood education and the fight to stop child sex-trafficking during her term. "I have never been in a role before where I was motivating people who weren't getting a paycheck." Pillow, whose group supports programs including Kids in the Kitchen and mini-grants for DeKalb County teachers, saw the parallels between her professional and volunteer roles. In each, she observed, "You've got to be able to think on your feet."
