Sony has pushed up the release date for 'Michael Jackson: THIS IS IT' and announced pre-ticket sales.

The studio is moving the debut to October 28, two days prior to its previously announced release.

The concert special will be in theaters for a limited two-week engagement worldwide and will chronicle the last two months of Jackson's life -- April through June, 2009. According to the studio, the film is drawn from more than one hundred hours of material, including behind-the-scenes material and footage of Jackson rehearsing for what was to be his final tour of the same name at London's O2 arena. Kenny Ortega will direct.
