Clarice Taylor, the actress who played Bill Cosby's mother on "The Cosby Show," has died, according to a report on People magazine's website.

Taylor's representative said the actress died Monday of heart failure at age 93.

The actress, who also appeared on "Sesame Street" and "Sanford and Son",  performed  on stage, radio, TV and film for over five decades, according to People.

She was best known in later years for her role as Dr. Cliff Huxtable's mother, Anna Huxtable.

Taylor is survived by two sons and five grandchildren.
