LAWRENCEVILLE

Roaring '20s Big Band Swing Dance Party at 550 Trackside

The French called the 1920s "the crazy years." This event allows dancers to get crazy on the dance floor with their swing, rumba and cha cha moves. Capitol City Xpress, a 17-piece swing band, provides the tunes. In between sets a DJ spins a wider history of dance tracks. Need fuel for all of that footwork? American Crepes of Atlanta will be whipping up crepes, and each ticket includes one complimentary creation. Rookie dancers should get there early because the evening begins with a lesson, which is included with admission.

7:30 p.m. Aug. 31. $15 advance; $20 at the door. 550 Trackside, 550 N. Clayton St., Lawrenceville. 770-855-4396, www.bigbandswingdanceparty.com.
