FAYETTEVILLE

The Association at Villages Amphitheater

Flower power blooms 45 years later as California pop rock group the Association brings its signature harmonies to Fayetteville. The group loaded its own virtual jukebox with a mess of hits including “Never My Love,” “Along Comes Mary,” “Cherish” and “Windy.” Expect these songs and more to be on tap. Although some of the teenage girls who originally screamed as the band performed on “The Ed Sullivan Show” are now grandmothers, they’ll be able to share those sunny songs with a whole new generation. Other performers in the Villages Amphitheater summer concert series include Roy Clark on July 23 and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on Aug. 13.

8 p.m. June 18. $15-$25. Villages Amphitheater, 301 LaFayette Ave., Fayetteville. 770-719-4173, www.villagesamphitheater.com.

MARIETTA

“Rent” at Earl Smith Strand Theatre

The Atlanta Lyric Theatre brings Broadway to the ’burbs as its production of the Tony Award-winning “Rent” continues. The rock musical, which draws loosely from Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Bohème,” grooves along as a group of seven starving artists and musicians do the Bohemian thing in the East Village. Tragedy strikes when the looming cloud of HIV/AIDS hangs overhead. Watch and listen to the cast belt out the soundtrack, including the signature piece “Seasons of Love.” The acclaimed music and lyrics come from the pen of Jonathan Larson. Remember the show is for mature minds.

Thursdays-Sundays through June 26. $27.50-$48.70. Earl Smith Strand Theatre, 117 N. Park Square, Marietta. 404-377-9948, http://atlantalyrictheatre.com.

WOODSTOCK

“Peter Pan” at Woodstock City Center

Come fly with the cast of “Peter Pan.” The musical is based on J.M. Barrie’s classic kid lit of the same name. Pirates plunder, mermaids splash, Indians powwow and a crocodile chomps. Most of us remember the story by heart. Yet the Elm Street Players know it’s always a safe bet to take a trip back to Neverland and hang with the boy who never wants to grow up. It’s an opportunity to sprinkle a little pixie dust on the whole family.

3 p.m. June 18 and 19; 10 a.m. June 22; 3 p.m. June 25 and 26; 10 a.m. June 29. $9. Woodstock City Center, 8534 Main St., Woodstock. 678-494-4251, www.elmstreetarts.org.
