ROSWELL

Family Canoe Days at Chattahoochee Nature Center

Ready to make a splash in a canoe? This course passes on a boatload of knowledge. Don’t fret if you’re new to canoeing. The canoe guides are experienced paddlers and naturalists, and are trained in first aid and CPR. The center provides all the gear including canoes, paddles and personal flotation devices. Learn the basics such as the parts of the boat, the correct way to get in and out, various paddling strokes, safety tips and more. Next, it’s time to hit one of the center’s ponds to test your skills. Ages 5 and older are welcome to set sail. If you book a third seat in your canoe, that paddler’s admission is half price. Pre-registration is required and spaces fill quickly. If you miss this one, another class takes place on July 31.
