Happy Hour Live at Family Life Missionary Baptist Church
Christian singles ages 18 and older can mix and mingle at Happy Hour Live, an alternative to the typical club scene. Performers include all-female band God’s Gurls, gospel rapper Brandon Latimore and vocalist Reverend Darien Brooks. While the music serves to soothe the soul, food and non-alcoholic drinks help fill bellies. Can’t find a sitter? Child care is available for $3 per kid. Happy Hour Live is a regular event taking place on the fourth Friday of each month.

Netherworld Haunted House at Georgia Antique & Design Center
Beginning this weekend, the award-winning haunted attraction Netherworld scares up another year of frights. It’s celebrating its 15th year in the boo business with some new themes. The Nightmares, Netherworld’s main haunted attraction, stars a cast of ghoulish gargoyles that can shape-shift into just about anything. They’ll be going up against a cast of equally eerie characters including vampires and zombies. Venture into Netherworld’s basement for Raw Meat, its second on-site haunt. There you’ll find a runaway train, a barrage of insects, cannibals, sewer-dwelling gators and more.

The Atlanta Balalaika Society’s 30th Anniversary Concert at Roswell Cultural Arts Center
The Atlanta Balalaika Society promises a convergence of Russian folk music, song and dance at this musical gala. The entertainment begins before the show in the lobby with strolling musicians. Barynya, an internationally acclaimed Russian ensemble, delivers Russian, Cossack, gypsy and Jewish folk dances, songs and music. Balalaika virtuoso Elina Karokhina and gypsy singer Sasha Menshikov join in. The Atlanta Balalaika Society Orchestra, all dressed in traditional folk costumes, will feature domra virtuoso Angelina Galashenkova-Reed and bayan soloist Alla Melnik. David C. Cooper conducts the orchestra, which is one of the largest of its kind using Russian folk instruments outside of Russia.
