WOODSTOCK

Main Street Sessions at Dean’s Store

The Main Street Sessions events, which have been taking place for the past four years, feature appearances by local authors, theater groups and musicians on the third Saturday of each month. For December, it’s an old-fashioned Christmas celebration. Kids can listen to live readings of Christmas stories and munch on seasonal treats. Santa Claus himself is scheduled to make an appearance. It all takes place inside the historic Dean’s Store, which opened as a pharmacy in 1906. Today it serves as Woodstock’s Visitors Center, but it still houses artifacts including unsold stock,  journals and a life-size cut-out of Dr. Will Dean, the store’s founder.

1 p.m. Dec. 18. Free. Dean’s Store, 8588 Main St., Woodstock. 770-924-0406, www.oldetownewoodstock.com.
