Drake's crush on Rihanna has long been speculated -- since meeting in 2005 when Rihanna was filming the music video for her debut single "Pon de Replay," the two have collaborated on multiple songs together, and Drake has even rapped about Rihanna in some of his song lyrics.

Drake confirmed rumors Aug. 28 at the MTV Video Music Awards.

"She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22 years old," he said while presenting the singer with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award"She's one of my best friends in the world. She's a living, breathing legend in our industry."

Fans weren't surprised by the public declaration, but internet users poked fun at Drake for what appeared to be a rejected attempted at a kiss onstage.

The next day, Drake posted a photo kissing Rihanna over drinks as a tribute to her accomplishments.

That came after Drake bought a billboard and dedicated it to Rihanna's recognition.

And just days after the awards show, Rihanna appeared as a surprise guest at Drake's Miami concert. After performing, the 28-year-old thanked the audience and exited the stage  -- but not before hugging and kissing the Canadian artist.

Plus, the two recently revealed matching tattoos -- a camouflage shark that reportedly represents a stuffed shark gift that Drake gave to Rihanna on a recent visit to Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, according to Complex. Drake rented out the aquarium to host an intimate, romantic late-night dinner in front of the fish tanks, Elle reported.

Fans noticed the stuffed shark made it into the picture Drake posted of the pair.

"I can only say it's personal," Rihanna's tattoo artist, Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy said of the work. "I've seen many people online guessing what the tattoo means, but it's not my place to say. I will say I've tattooed Rihanna many times and last night was my favorite."

McCurdy said Rihanna got the tattoo while in Drake's dressing room before a concert.

The two haven't officially acknowledged their relationship as a romantic one, but fans in support of the couple have already dubbed the pair with a name: Aubrih -- a combination of Drake's real name, Aubrey, and Rihanna's name.
