Maria Bello has been in town for a few months now working on the movie "Prisoners," starring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Terrence Howard and Viola Davis. Over the weekend, she spent her free time raising money for a charity she co-founded, We Advance, which works with women's groups in Haiti. The event, held in the Teamsters Local Union Hall, raised more than $30,000.

In an interview before the event, Bello told us that “Prisoners,” which has filmed in Tucker, Conyers, Social Circle and Atlanta Medical Center’s South Campus in East Point, will wrap in a few weeks. “People are loving shooting in Atlanta,” she said. “I just love the city. The people are really low-key and generous.”

‘Anchorman 2’ takes over downtown Atlanta

Security's been pretty tight around the various "Anchorman 2" filming locations. Luckily we have friends in high places. Like on an upper floor in one of the Peachtree Center towers when the Will Ferrell comedy was shooting last week in downtown Atlanta.

Our well-placed spies managed to sneak peeks at Ron Burgundy on ice and his skating stunt double. (The star of "Blades of Glory" has a skating stunt man? Now we've heard everything!)

The movie also starring Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig and Christina Applegate has been filming for several weeks now. While the sequel is set in San Diego, a number of local spots have been used as filming sites, including the Silver Skillet in Midtown and private homes in Inman Park and Buckhead. It will be fun to try to spot Atlanta when the movie is released.

In their downtime, cast members have been spotted at a number of area restaurants, including the Optimist, South City Kitchen Midtown, Two Urban Licks, Antico and Cypress Street Pint and Plate. And Ferrell keeps hitting the gym. We heard he showed up for a recent workout in full Ron Burgundy regalia. Too funny.
