Selena Gomez appeared in the flush of health on Thursday while visiting Atlanta to promote her movie "Monte Carlo," which is pretty much what you would expect of an 18-year-old.

But the actress-singer and Justin Bieber gal pal was hospitalized in Los Angeles just a week ago for what turned out to be malnourishment and dehydration. Now, she's back on a nine-city tour to promote her summer film, which opens across the country on July 1.

"Much better," Gomez said of her health. "I feel good, I feel happy that I'm able to do all this. I was a little nervous that I wasn't going to attend everything I'd committed to."

In addition to media interviews, the former Disney Channel star, is appearing at malls to do Q&As with fans. She's scheduled to make a free half-hour appearance in front of tween and teen fans at the Mall of Georgia's Village Amphitheater in Buford starting at 6:35 tonight.

Gomez said her mother, Mandy Teefey, advised her to slow down and take better care of herself -- and she's listening since Mom is also her manager. The actress said she hadn't worked herself into exhaustion, as some had speculated, in fact had just finished a vacation at her family home in Dallas when she made her unexpected hospital visit. She said she likes to keep moving and sometime forgets to eat and drink water.

But while staying at a posh Midtown Atlanta hotel, she was surrounded by at least a half-dozen handlers who were dealing with everything from her makeup to keeping the media interviews zipping along on schedule to plying her with coffee and food, including a fresh fruit plate that appeared as we were departing.

Gomez plays two roles in "Monte Carlo," a girlie summer escapist bauble that should satisfy her core fans: Grace, a small-town Texan who graduates from high school and takes her dream trip to Paris; and British socialite Cordelia Winthrop Scott. When Grace is mistaken for snobby, dismissive Cordelia, hi-jinks, as they say, ensue.

The film also stars Katie Cassidy as Grace's best friend and Leighton Meester as Grace's stepsister, both of whom accompany Grace on her postcard-pretty European misadventure. Gomez said she was intimidated when the slightly older actresses were cast, but that the three of them bonded like sisters during the shoot.

Prompted by one of her Hollywood handlers to pose a "last question," we asked the star to tell us something about boyfriend Bieber that no one else would know.

"He loves his fans," she replied, "and he loves his job."

Never in a million years would've guessed that!
