World Wrestling Entertainment will announce Monday that the Atlanta Sports Council is bringing WrestleMania to the Georgia Dome next spring.

"Atlanta has a long-standing reputation of hosting the highest level of sporting events," said Atlanta Sports Council president Gary Stokan. "Adding WrestleMania 27 to our list of wins would further showcase Atlanta as the sports capital of the world."

A noon press conference is planned at the Georgia Dome Monday. Billed as the “Super Bowl” of sports entertainment, the event's promoters say it "could deliver up to $50 million in economic impact to the city."

The event is headed up by Vince McMahon, chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. The roster of performers include Batista, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Kelly Kelly, Mark Henry and Eve.
