A Norwegian black metal drummer has "accidentally" been elected to his local town council.

The frontman for the band Darkthrone mistakenly agreed to be on a list of backup representatives and assumed that he'd never be called upon. To ensure this, Glyve "Fenriz" Nagell posted a picture of himself holding his cat with the caption, "Please don't vote for me."

Locals loved the low-key campaign, and instead he won a position on the council. He'll have to serve as a backup representative for the next four years and is quite unhappy about it, citing how boring it is and the lack of good pay.
