Bill Cosby cuts up at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta

Comedian Bill Cosby performs Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Ga.

Comedian, author, actor, television producer and activist Bill Cosby performed two shows Saturday at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

He performs nonstop for a minimum of two hours.

In the three minutes this photographer was permitted to shoot, Bill Cosby humored the large, diverse crowd with observations on Atlanta's cold weather, Thanksgiving turkeys, husbands, and Italian traditions.

William Henry "Bill" Cosby Jr. has received many honors since his birth in Philadelphia on July 12, 1937, including a Kennedy Center Honor in 1998 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002. He received an Honorary Doctor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music in 2004.

In 1965, Bill Cosby achieved a first for African-Americans when he costarred with Robert Culp in the TV series 'I Spy. 'As the first black star of a dramatic television series, Cosby won three consecutive Emmy awards.

Bill Cosby met his wife, Camille Hanks, while he was performing stand-up in Washington, D.C., and she was a student at the University of Maryland. They married in 1964,and had five children: daughters Erika Ranee, Erinn Chalene, Ensa Camille, and Evin Harrah, and son Ennis William. Ennis Cosby was shot to death while changing a flat tire on the side of a Los Angeles freeway on Jan. 16, 1997.

Former football player Cosby is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. Recently, when both the Eagles' starting and backup quarterbacks were injured, Cosby sent some of his old football gear to head coach Andy Reid, joking he was ready to play if needed.
