Elite eaters hoping to enter their gullets in the annual Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, N.Y., have a chance to qualify by downing dogs here in Atlanta this weekend. Cypress Street Pint and Plate, at 817 West Peachtree, Suite E-125 (at 6th and Cypress streets), hosts its Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest Qualifier event at 1 p.m. Saturday. Fans can begin arriving to cheer on the chompers at 11 a.m. The male and female winners proceed to Coney Island, where they'll have a chance to compete for international hot-dog glory on July 4. Competitors must be at least 18 and must register in advance. Information: www.ifoce.com.
