BaconFest; Need we say more?

A festival that celebrates all things bacon, as if that wasn't enough, the event included Hobo Wine Tasting, Improvised Advice, Terrible Caricatures, Sanitary Smooches and plenty of other fun. Check it out today on wsbtv.com.

Bacon lovers flocked to The Masquerade Music Park to attend the 14th annual BaconFest over the weekend.

Featuring its usual tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and mischievous fun, the wildly popular annual event benefiting Dad’s Garage featured live music, entertainment and games, plenty of ice-cold beer courtesy of Pabst Blue Ribbon and, of course, 2,250 pounds of bacon donated by The Vortex Bar & Grill and cooked up by Thumbs Up Diner.

Designed for the silly at heart and manned by the wildly entertaining Dad’s Garage improv actors, the game and entertainment booths at BaconFest included: Hobo Wine Tasting with the Euclid Avenue Yacht Club; Chill the Eff Out with Lucky Yates; Improvised Advice; Shut the Box; Terrible Caricatures; Compliments by Karen; Mistress Scraps, Fortune Teller; Dr. Boobies, M.D.; Sanitary Smooches; Naughty Face Painting; Shecky Bergman's Mini Roast; Game On's Video Game Truck; Adult Bounce House; Fitness Battalion's Fitness Challenge (winner got a treat, loser gets a carrot); Mary Todd Hair and Beard Stylings; Bone Lick BBQ Stand Up Comedy Booth; Kanga Blaster Booth; Palookaville Corndog Obstacle Course; The Wheel of Schatz; and the Turner Bike Face Off.

Local businesses also jumped on board to provide tastings, activities, and special offerings for attendees, including Whynatte, Happy Hour Confections, Frozen Pints Ice Cream, Bone Lick BBQ, Establishment, The Wrecking Bar, The Atlanta Rollergirls, Dough Bakery, and The Atlanta Freedom Band.

About Dad’s Garage Theatre Company:  Founded in 1995, Dad's Garage Theatre Company has grown from a small volunteer led organization to a thriving mid-size theatre led by professional artistic and administrative staff that includes over 300 volunteers and performers. In 2013, Dad’s Garage which had entertained more than 30,000 people at their two-theatre facility in Inman Park, was forced to look for a new home as a result of development in the area. Temporarily staying at neighboring 7 Stages Theatre in Little Five Points, the theatre continues to produce its own productions in addition to public events across Atlanta and the state, and at improv festivals across the continent. In addition to outrageous original productions, Dad’s Garage is currently searching for its new home in and around the Inman Park and Little Five Points area of Atlanta, with the hopes of announcing the new location in 2014.
