For some of you foot-race fans, running is not enough.

You want to bounce, slog, swim, crawl and slide.

Rugged Maniac, an obstacle race after the fashion of Tough Mudder and Spartan Races, was created with you in mind.

The 5K race, held Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, will allow you and 5,000 of your friends to get as dirty as you want to be.

Competitors will wade through mud, jump over burning logs, wiggle through underground tunnels and skid along a 50-foot water slide.

Last year Rugged Maniac founders Rob Dickens and Brad Scudder promoted their conceept on the television show “Shark Tank,” and convinced billionaire Mark Cuban to invest $1.75 million in the enterprise.

Atlanta is one of 22 cities in North America that will host a Rugged Maniac competition this year.

Tickets, $100. www.ruggedmaniac.com/events/atlanta/
