The Atlanta Science Festival, one of the AJC's can't-miss 2017 spring festivals, kicks off this week.
The festival offers more than 100 events, including activities that are geared towards families and adults.

Atlanta Science Festival Launches with Captain Mark Kelly
This year’s Atlanta Science Festival will kick off this week with the help of astronaut Captain Mark Kelly. Kelly will appear at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church during a ticketed event, the first of more than 100 events that will take place during the annual festival.
Kelly will talk about his NASA experiment with his twin brother regarding how space affects the human body. Ahead of Kelly's appearance at 7 p.m., families can help launch rockets outside of the church.
The event will conclude with a book signing of Kelly's two books "Mousetronaut" and "Astrotwins."

Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience promises to emerge fans of the HBO show into the fictional continents Westeros and Essos from the popular fantasy series with the help of the show’s composer, Ramin Djawadi. The concert will feature a full orchestra and choir.

Candice Glover
R&B singer and season 12 winner of American Idol Candice Glover will perform to an intimate crowd at City Winery. The singer hasn’t released an album since her 2014 debut, but her soulful vocals will surely keep the audience entertained.

Quilt Show
The Bulloch Hall Quilt Guild is currently hosting its annual show in Roswell. The 10-day event ends on March 19 and features more than 170 quilts.

Atlanta Fair
Visit the Atlanta Fair this week and take a ride on the Ferris Wheel, which offers an exhilarating view of the Atlanta skyline.
