Atlanta stays classy with “Anchorman” sightings

Stay classy, Atlanta! The “Anchorman” sequel has begun filming and cast members have already been spotted a few times enjoying the town in their downtime.

The comedy starring Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, Kristen Wiig and James Marsden has been filming in Midtown and Inman Park this week. The gang, along with Adam Goodman, president of Paramount Film Group, dined together at Two Urban Licks last week. Marsden has been spotted solo at Cypress Street Pint and Plate and he, Ferrell and Wiig have checked out Barcelona Atlanta. And Ferrell's been by South City Kitchen Midtown. We are pretty sure actors filming in Atlanta must demand a visit to the upscale Southern comfort restaurant during contract negotiations. Or maybe the proximity to the star-friendly Four Seasons accounts for South City's steady stream of famous diners.

In related news Harrison Ford, who was here last year filming scenes for the movie "42," returns soon to join the cast of "Anchorman 2," according to Hollywood Reporter. He "will play a legendary newscaster a la Tom Brokaw," the Hollywood Reporter piece added. Incidentally Brokaw, who visited the Atlanta Press Club in late 2011 while on a book tour, noted that his long broadcast career included a 1960s-era stint at WSB-TV. See? All roads lead to Atlanta.

Honey Boo Boo back in the cookie business

Whew! Looks like Honey Boo Boo an'em are going to be able to hawk those Thin Mints after all. Alana Thompson and her family down in McIntyre had been selling Girl Scout cookies via Facebook on behalf of a local troop, but that ran afoul of Girl Scout policy. Scouts can spread the word via social media that they are selling cookies, but must complete the transactions themselves and should do their own selling. Girl Scouts officials did applaud Georgia's most famous 7-year-old for wanting to help but said the star of TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" should not have been doing so online.

Well, good news. The BuzzFeed website posted pictures of Honey Boo Boo hawking cookies at Milledgeville Mall this week, and the Boo’s family posted a photo of her on Facebook on Tuesday with joyous news: She’s an official Scout now.
