You don’t have to spend a lot of money to enjoy some of the fun events that Atlanta has to offer this month.

In fact, there are five free events that are just as fun as any other event you might hope to enjoy in May.

From enjoying a variety of music at the Atlanta Jazz Festival to watching a movie in the park, here are our suggestions for free events to enjoy this month:

High Museum of Art’s “Block Party”

Enjoy High Museum of Art exhibits Vik Muniz, Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks and I See a Story: The Art of Eric Carle before heading outside and indulging in tasty eats from food trucks during the museum’s Block Party. Kids can get their faces painted, receive a caricature and participate in arts and craft during the five-hour party.

This event is free with admission into the museum.

If You Go: noon-5 p.m. May 22. Free (with museum admission). High Museum of Art, 1280 Peachtree St., Atlanta. high.org.

Atlanta Jazz Festival

Spend Memorial Day Weekend enjoying live music in Piedmont Park.

This year, event organizers set out to ensure the free, three-day festival offers a variety of musical acts that will appeal to Atlanta’s diverse demographic.

In addition to live music, attendees can visit local food and artist vendors, as well as the Kidzone, during the festival.

If You Go: 6 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. May 27-29. Free. Piedmont Park, along 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta.Atlantafestivals.com.

Movies in the Park

Enjoy the company of your friends, tasty snacks and a popular movie this season. Mall of Georgia and Atlantic Station both kick off their annual movie series this month.

Enjoy millennial classic "Mean Girls" in Central Park at Atlantic Station on May 19 or revisit the "Minions" craze at The Village Amphitheatre at Mall of Georgia on May 28. Both films are scheduled to start around 9 p.m.

Attend a free spring festival

There’s still time to visit a spring festival and enjoy some family-friendly fun throughout the month of May.

Stroll through the Historic Auburn Avenue District during the Sweet Auburn Springfest with your mom during Mother’s Day weekend or head to the Chastain Park Arts Festival on May 7 and view art from nearly 200 artists.

College Hall of Fame

Celebrate Mother's Day with your mom by visiting the College Football Hall of Fame for their "Moms and Mimosas" event. This visit isn't just about football, however. The special mother in your life will be pampered with free manicures and chair massages as she sips on mimosas at the event.

Moms get in free with the purchase of regular priced ticket ($19.99 for adults and $16.99 for kids, ages 3-12).
