“Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us,” Atlanta rapper and actor T.I. posted on Instagram, along with several photos of himself with daughters Deyjah Harris and Zonnique Pullins.

The post came just days after NBA legend Kobe Bryant died with daughter Gianna Bryant and seven others in a helicopter crash. Tributes to Bryant, who had four daughters, prompted the Twitter hashtag #GirlDad.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., was criticized in November after he revealed in an interview that he takes 18-year-old Deyjah to the gynecologist each year to “check her hymen.”

"So, we'll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk, and the doctor's maintaining a high level of professionalism," he told hosts Nazanin and Nadia during the podcast "Ladies Like Us". "He's like, 'You know, sir, I have to, in order to share information' — I'm like, 'Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn't want me to know?' Oh, OK. See doc, no problem."

He later told Jada Pinkett Smith during an an interview on her show, “Red Table Talks,” that he embellished his comments about the annual visit.

In his Instagram post, T.I. told wrote: “I love you girls more than my vocabulary will allow me to express. You have grown so much right before my very eyes & blossomed into strong, brilliantly opinionated, independent young women. I'm so proud of you both and I love you to no end, more than you'll ever know.”

The tribute to his daughters was bookended by posts to his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris, and his sons.
