'The Lion King' sets up

Stage hands spent most of Tuesday unloading equipment for "The Lion King," which opens it's three-week run Thursday at the Civic Center.

"The Lion King" opens its three-week run Thursday at the Civic Center. With it comes 30 tractor trailers filled with equipment.

Workers with Walt Disney Theatrical and stage hands with Local 927 IATSE spent most of Tuesday unloading the trucks.

The crew assembles the backdrops are prepares to hoist them into place on drops trusses.

The production could not be performed at the Fox Theatre because it could not accommodate the huge animal puppets and other parts of the set.
