NCAA March Madness Live (available on iOS and Android)
It’s the No. 1 app on iTunes and the official app of the tournament. It not only allows you to stream every game live on your phone or tablet, it gives you real-time stats and social media feeds you can follow.
Final Four Atlanta app (iOS and Android)
The official Final Four mobile app is presented by the NCAA’s partners at AT&T. The app will keep you current on all the events over Final Four weekend with daily schedules or autograph signings and you can even set up reminders on social media. A scavenger hunt is embedded in the app that features great offers from Coke Zero.
Thuuz (iOS and Android)
Many apps will give you the scores when you want them, but not many will give you updates by alerts or text messages. Thuuz will, so you don’t miss out on any buzzer-beaters. With the use of an algorithm that scores games on watchability, Thuuz will send an alert when something big is happening. You may want to make sure you uninstall or turn off the alerts if you are in an important meeting or job interview.
Pickoff Sports Pick ‘em
Pickoff Sports is a new Facebook app, designed by an Atlanta tech startup, where you can compete against friends by picking the winners of each day’s games. All you have to do is pick. The app keeps all the results.
See & Say MARTA app (iOS and Android)
MARTA’s latest app was just released last week. It offers riders a quick way for reporting emergencies and incidents to MARTA Police. You can send text or photo messages. It’s free, so download.
Atlanta Checker Cab app (iOS and Android)
Get around town easily this weekend with Atlanta’s only taxi cab company that has its own app. Call, reserve and even pay for your cab right through the app.
City Maps and Walks Atlanta app (iOS)
A great free app that will take you on a self-guided walking tour of Atlanta and other cities. Turn-by-turn walking instructions are given. Yes, you can walk in Atlanta.
Wichita St. Shockers app (iOS)
Developed by the Wichita State athletic department and Neulion, this app picks up where goshockers.com leaves off, with everything you need to know about WSU, including live stats for select sports.
Louisville Cards Mobile (iOS and Android)
Get up to speed on everything Rick Pitino’s high-flying Cardinals are up to. This app give pregame and postgame analysis and gives you the best of Louisville’s multiple Twitter feeds.
Syracuse Basketball by Statsheet (iOS and Android)
If you bleed orange for the Orange, you need this app for previews, recaps, unique statistical nuggets, scoring and expert analysis based on real-time stats and historical trends.
M Go Blog (iOs)
MGoBlog is the ridiculously popular Michigan Wolverines sports blog covering everything Michigan and “Go Blue.”
