Christine Eisner downsized from a 5,000-square-foot home built in the 1920s near one Atlanta attraction — the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead — to a 1,900-square-foot condo near another — the High Museum of Art.

"I wanted to add a little bit of cool, a little bit of glamour, but still have it be welcoming and cozy," Eisner says of her living room.

The black bar and coffee table were designed by her father, Dolph Leuthold, to go with a set of Josef Hoffman seating he had in his New York apartment.

Eisner's favorite interior design feature: Built-in shelves in the living room and dining room, which already existed in the condo when she purchased it.

Eisner squeezed a bed into her corner office, the "guitar room."

Eisner's tip for downsizing: Streamline by choosing your most treasured items and using items in new ways (the purple sofa that was in the guest bedroom of her Buckhead home was placed at the dining table in her condo). “It’s really sort of the greatest hits of what I love,” she says.

Cream Eames chairs are reminiscent of a black Eames chair Eisner's father often used in his home. She says that midcentury modern is her favorite design style.

In her daughter's bedroom: Two green upholstered chairs from Savvy Snoot and a mid-century reproduction of a Tiffany lamp purchased at an auction in Atlanta.

Eisner's father gave her this hallway table when she was 10 years old and it's been in her bedroom, at college and now sits in the front entry of her Buckhead home.

“Loving the arts and being from New York, my idea was I wanted to live walking distance from Woodruff Arts Center,” says Eisner, a former public relations director for Ralph Lauren Corp. and owner of Comfort Living by Christine, a lifestyle design firm. From the bedroom of her condo on Peachtree Street she can see Alexander Calder’s distinctive mobile in front of the High.
