The famous Versace mansion in South Beach has a new owner. On Sept. 17, 2013, VM South Beach LLC bid $41.5 million for the oceanfront property on Miami Beach's touristy Ocean Drive. Fashion designer Gianni Versace bought luxurious home, built in 1930 by architect and philanthropist Alden Freeman, and an adjacent lot in 1992 for $10 million. Versace then transformed the property by adding a 6,100-square-foot south wing, a gold-lined swimming pool, a mosaic-covered courtyard and frescoes on the walls and ceilings.
