Homebuyers in this Gwinnett city can rest easier knowing they made the right call.

According to a study, Buford is the best city for buying a home in Georgia. Its advantageous location by Atlanta, school district and property tax level make it the favorite of website GoBankingRates.

The site arrived at Buford by pulling three cities in Georgia with the highest-rated school districts as judged by Niche. They then used the median property tax bill, median home listing price, and median household income to pick a best city in which to buy a home.

Median Buford home prices are slightly higher than those in Atlanta, according to GoBankingRates, but their home values are also higher.

This survey is not the only way to judge the data, however. A Niche.com survey in 2015 rating the best suburb to buy a home in Gwinnett found Suwanee, Duluth and Norcross were ranked highest across property taxes and housing costs.

Homebuyers interested in safety should also check out living in Braselton, which one survey found was one of the safest cities in Georgia and the third-safest small town in the state.
